Skinheads Found Guilty of Racially-Motivated Attack

Four men found guilty of a racially-motivated attack against a Romani student in 2002 were ordered to pay the victim 25,000 Czech crowns (approximately 830 Euros) in compensation, reported Radio Prague on May 20, 2005. All four men were additionally ordered to provide written letters of apology and were given suspended sentences the longest of which is three years.

In October of 2002, the four men, the oldest of whom was nineteen years of age, attacked Marek Polak, a seventeen year old Romani student, near a Prague metro station. Mr Polak suffered cuts, bruises and a concussion necessitating hospitalisation and stitiches.
