September 16, 2002: Published ERRCCountry Report No. 11, The Limits of Solidarity: Roma in Poland After 1989.

August 15, 2002: Held a joint briefing together with the Hungarian Helsinki Committee and the Roma Press Center on the situation of Roma in Hungary before the United Nations Committee for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination in Geneva, Switzerland.

August 19-21, 2002: Visited European Commission officials and country team officers in preparation for the 2002 Regular Reports in Brussels, Belgium.

September 6-7, 2002: Attended the 2002 Annual Meeting of the Gypsy Lore Society held in Budapest, Hungary.

September 6-8: Held a workshop on "Personal Documents and Threats to the Exercise of Fundamental Rights among Roma in the Former Yugoslavia" in Igalo, Montenegro.

September 8-10, 2002: Attended a roundtable discussion on the "Situation of the Roma in Education in Croatia", organized by the Council of Europe and the Croatian Government's Office for National Minorities in Čakovec, Croatia.

September 9-11, 2002: Attended the UN conference "Rebuilding Societies Emerging from Conflict: A Shared Responsibility" at UN headquarters in New York, USA.

September 10-13, 2002: Participated and presented ERRC written submissions at the Implementation Meeting of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe in Warsaw, Poland.

October 15, 2002: Gave a speech on the rights of Romani children at the "Child First" conference organised by the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium.

October 16, 2002: Attended the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance Roundtable in Bucharest, Romania.

October 21, 2002: Attended the "Roma Participation in Europe - The Way Forward" seminar organized by the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, France.

October 21, 2002: Presented ERRC activities to a group of Romani and non-Romani activists from Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia in the framework of a coordination meeting hosted by the Budapest-based Mediator Foundation, Budapest, Hungary.

October 25-26, 2002: Held a workshop on "The Prohibition of Racial and Ethnic Discrimination" together with the Humanitarian Law Center in Belgrade, Serbia.

October 26-27, 2002: Provided training to a group of Romani activists in the framework of the OSCE/Council of Europe project 'Roma in the Stability Pact
for Southeastern Europe", Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

October 29-31, 2002: Attended the "International Conference on the Protection of Minorities - A Model for Crisis Prevention?" organized by the Federal College for Security Studies in Bonn, Germany.

October 30, 2002: Attended workshop at the Centre For Independent Journalism in Bratislava, Slovakia, where the ERRC gave a lecture on the history of civil rights movements in the UK and the USA.

October 31, 2002: Attended a conference organised by the British Council called "Beyond Accession", exploring the ramifactions of Hungary's eventual membership to the European Union. Hungary, Budapest.

November 4, 2002: Attended a consultation meeting organized by the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance in Strasbourg, France.

November 5, 2002: Held a lecture on "Research and Roma Rights in Hungary", University of Uppsala, Uppsala, Sweden.

November 7, 2002: Held a roundtable discussion for Hungarian Romani organisations in Budapest, Hungary.

November 8-10, 2002: Met with representatives of non-governmental organisation Romani Yag in Užhorod, Ukraine.

November 10, 2002: Lectured on policies on Roma in the United Kingdom at a conference organised by the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, Budapest, Hungary.

November 14-17, 2002 : Attended the International Helsinki Federation Annual Meeting in the Hague, the Netherlands.

November 24-26, 2002: Attended a seminar on "The Interdependence between Democracy and Human Rights" organized by the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva, Switzerland.
