Child Protection Conference

Participants: EU officials, Government representatives, Children's and Roma Rights activists and Child Protection practioners

Purpose:  To present the findings of a multi-country project, commissioned by the EU's Fundamental Rights and Citizenship programme and undertaken by the ERRC, with the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee, the Milan Simecka Foundation and osservAzione, which aimed to identify rights violations and other problems associated with Romani children in State care in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Romania and Slovakia.

 

Conference on Trafficking Romani youth and women in Eastern and Central Europe: Analysing the effectiveness of national laws and policies in prevention and victim support

Participants: Roma NGOs and activists, general social service providers and anti-trafficking service providers, law enforcement officials, international organisations and relevant government officials

Purpose:  To discuss preliminary research results and obtain feedback on a draft English-language cross-country report on trafficking affecting Romani communities

Purpose: To promote social inclusion of Roma women, improve their present situation by developing structures and mechanisms in order to promote the principle of gender equality

ERRC Seeks Interns

The European Roma Rights Centre (ERRC) invites applications for its full-time internship programme. The ERRC offers interns a dynamic, fast-paced, international human rights environment, based in Budapest, Hungary. Romani and non-Romani interns are chosen for this programme through a competitive bi-annual selection process. The ERRC is currently accepting applications from persons wishing to intern at the ERRC for three to six months between September 2012 and February 2013.
