The case concerns the forceful removal of a new born baby from his family upon birth, an all-too-common occurrence for Roma families in Hungary. The baby was taken away from its mother few days after birth. The ERRC together with a local partner is providing legal representation to the mother to challenge the authorities.

Heves County

The ERRC and our partner, the Chance for Children Foundation, are taking actio popularis litigation claiming that Romani children are disproportionately over-represented in the special schools in the county and therefore are being discriminated against based on their ethnicity.
