Investigative documentation of the militarized police campaign against Romani communities in Greece (2025–2026). The ENTOS operation is the largest case of collective punishment and ethnic profiling seen in Europe for decades; fundamentally violating the principle of individual criminal culpability. Rather than targeting specific suspects based on credible intelligence, the operation treats entire Romani communities as inherently criminal. Introduction For years, the ERRC has been documenting hate crime and hate speech in various countries. With support from the Open Society Initiative for Europe, the ERRC is carrying out a project designed to expose the extent of anti-Roma hate crime and hate speech in France and Italy and improve the authorities' response to these problems. The purpose of this project is to introduce a new methodology for this work and apply it in these two Western European countries, where the extent of anti-Roma hate speech and hate crime is largely recognised, but poorly documented or addressed.

The UN Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture

The UN Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture is again supporting the ERRC to provide legal services to Roma victims of torture in Europe. This year, the ERRC has been and will continue to focus on victims of torture inflicted mainly by police in Bulgaria, Hungary, Macedonia, Russia, Serbia, and Slovakia.

UN Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture

Through this project, the ERRC provides direct legal assistance to Romani victims of torture and members of their families in various countries. In 2012, the ERRC will provide such direct legal assistance in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Macedonia, Serbia, Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
