RoMagic Exhibition: Proudly Queer Unapologetically Roma

14 January 2026

This exhibition was held in 2025 across Brussels, Bucharest, and Belgrade and was co-created by Romani LGBTQI+ activists in collaboration with non-Romani allies and the ERRC. It was part of the RoMagic project, documenting oppression and resilience of LGBTQI+ Roma, and presents brave personal testimonies through intimate documentary photography and raw audio interviews. Alongside the exhibition, a digital photobook was also produced. The book is a digital collection of the powerful stories and images that make up the exhibition and celebrates all kinds of love, humanity, and a refusal to remain silent in the face of oppression.

All of the interviews are in their original language and are accompanied by translations or transcriptions in English.
